The Blog is Back!

I can’t believe it’s been two years since I was last writing about life in the Emporium, from stories to dragons and ghosts to elephants. In that time we’ve taken on new staff (check out our Meet the Team page) and we’ll all be here writing about the wonderful world of books. Join us at The Bookshop on the Corner for snippets on life behind the scenes, news, reviews and so much more!

So what has changed? Well, we’re back to doing lots of our favourite things. We have school visits and story times and book clubs and author events and it’s just so exciting! Sheldon and I have even taken our Storytime on the road - we held sessions at Do It Like a Mother last summer, and Metal this Easter.

Our Book Elves have been donating all sorts of wonderful books to our local schools, and Jacqui has been out and about doing assemblies and meeting lots of excited children.

The spirits of the Emporium remain as busy as ever, hiding things in unexpected places and playing with the lights. Their current fascination seems to be with our arts and crafts materials (seriously, where has that box of glue sticks disappeared to?)

Our new picture book room! Complete with a rocking chair and a great colouring table!

Obviously the shelves in the shop have been moved around so we can fit in even more amazing books, including for the first time a whole bookcase of grownup books!. There are more cosy nooks to hide in, and a brand new colouring table in the picture book room!

All in all, the Story Emporium remains a wonderful place to work, and we look forward to welcoming you through our doors.
