We are thrilled to welcome author Helen Rose on a visit to Lift Hockley for an exciting in-person event with the pupils on Wednesday 8th July, as part of the launch of her new picture book The Supersonic Fart, illustrated by Garry Parsons.
During the visit, Helen will be sharing her book and engaging the children with lots of activities to bring the ideas to life, as well as inspiring the children with her own love of books. The event promises to be great fun, and we know that author visits often encourage children to read and enjoy the author’s books afterwards.
The Supersonic Fart is a laugh-out-loud rhyming story that is sure to become a firm favourite, and it is the first in a brand-new series. Following the event, there will be a book signing for children who have pre-ordered a copy of the book. This is a fabulous opportunity, as the book is not officially published until 2nd July and we have excitingly been given early release of the book so that copies are available for this visit. The book signing will allow the children to meet Helen, collect their pre-ordered copy, and have it personalised and signed.

Pre-orders must be submitted by 5pm on Tuesday 7th July. There is no charge for delivery, and all pre-ordered books will be brought into school on the day to be signed by the author during the event.
