About the Event
The December Witches is the third and final chapter in the acclaimed Month Of Magic Triolgy and we are so excited to welcome author Jennifer Claessen back to Southend to celebrate its publication at a fun afternoon where we will both explore this book and her writing in general. It is going to be a fabulous afternoon for both fans and those new to the series.
Jennifer was a guest at our Young Writers Retreat in 2023 and toured local schools for the publication of The October Witches in 2022, so we know everyone is in for a treat!
Based on the book, the event is suggested for children aged 9 - 13 and their familes and everyone must have a ticket. There are three types of ticket: entrance only, which is free, or entrance including a book which is priced at the books price of £8.99. In additon for this event there is also a special price ticket that includes a discounted set of all three books. There will also be additonal books to purchase at the event, including copies of Jennifer's other books. All books purchased will be signed and dedicated by the author at the event.
About The December Witches:
December is Clemmie Merlyn’s favourite month as it usually begins with birthday cake and gifts. But as she turns thirteen, it begins with a bang: Clemmie, and Clemmie alone amongst all witches, is full of magic. So full of magic she might not make it to the end of the month. As the snow spirals down, anxious Clemmie and the young hags will have to find some way to stop her exploding. Because someone, or something, has chosen Clemmie and made her their One True Witch.
But magic is meant to be shared and no-one can survive being filled to the brim with starry power. Can the Merlyn and Morgan covens finally take on the ancient twisted magic of their ancestors? And can they do it in time for Christmas?
