STORY BITES Reads
Wednesdays from 17:30 – 18:45
at Jacqson Diego Story Emporium
Story Bites Reads is a weekly book group for children, aged between 8 and 12 years (school years 4 - 8) who love to read. By nature this club is for children who are interested in discussion based activities, which explore the ideas that arise from their reading. Although we use games and activities to prompt discussion and develop ideas it can be a challenging group.
Meeting weekly, we grow and share our ideas, develop confidence in our opinions, and work both together and individually in an unpressurised way to have fun with the books we read and think about them critically.
All of the books we read are supplied and are mostly new titles that have been carefully chosen to provide a basis for challenging discussion. On average we start a new book every 3 – 4 weeks.
Books read over the last year have included The Wild Robot, The Ethan I was Before, The Secrets of the Blue Glass, The Eye of the North, The 1000 Year Old Boy, Tin and The Many Lives of Maisie Day.
Story Bites Reads costs £7.50 per week paid half termly in advance. There is a 10% discount on the joint fee for children who also attend Story Bites Writes.
