Jacqson Diego Story Emporium offers a comprehensive, bespoke and flexible service for schools and nurseries that can be adapted to support your specific needs. This includes recommendations for all ages, great help for reluctant readers, author visits, story times and discount with account facilities.

In line with the current Covid 19 crisis our service is continually adapting, but we are ever flexible and looking for ways in which we can help you.

Some of the ways we can help you are:

Author/ illustrator Visits

We have a very packed address book and work with a wide range of authors throughout the year. We can arrange author visits into school, and also organise visits to the shop or other spaces throughout the year. These visits are charged as the fee set by the author or illustrator, with no additional charge by us on the proviso we are able to organise a books signing after school or during the event.

Occasionally we are asked to organise events for authors as part of a publisher book tour, and these are usually free.  We normally offer these to schools who hold an account with us in the first instance, and sometimes they come with the proviso that a minimum order of books are ordered in advance.

Authors we have recently worked with include: Ross Montgomery, Gareth P. Jones, Ellie Irving, Lisa Thompson, Helen Peters, Fleur Hitchcock, Kita Mitchell, Will Mabbitt, Jane Elson, Jennifer Killick, Justin Coe, Karl Newson, Ali Standish, Sarah Moore Fitzgerald.

We can also organise book signings for author events that have been arranged internally. Please contact us if you would like us to support your author event.

Book Supply

Books can be ordered via email, over the phone or in person. All schools receive a standard 10% discount as well as free delivery, there is no minimum order. Higher discounts obtained from publishers are passed onto the school in some cases. Orders are invoiced to the school, with a month to settle payment, apart from the end of the summer term, when settlement needs to occur before the end of term.

Schools can also subscribe to our fiction book boxes each half term. These cost £100 each and carry a minimum of £120 worth of books in them. They are available as Brand New Fiction or Accelerated Reader and offer a mixture of reading abilities in each box.

Library Audits and Consultancy

We offer free consultancy when working with school librarian and literacy leads to audit school libraries and reading resources in schools that hold an account with us. This is based on a minimum order of books per year, more information can be given on request.

Projects, Workshops and Initiatives

We are involved in many arts and humanities projects and develop book and writing related opportunities for schools across the key stages. Recent initiatives have included a mini children's literacy festival at Village Green Next Generation, a Story Bites residency at a local primary school and Poetry Pen-pals, a cross generational project with a local school, a group of older people and poet Justin Coe.

Projects can be created and planned to compliment specific topics, themes and genres, depending upon your requirements.
