We are thrilled to announce that the fabulous author Ellie Irving will be visiting

Kents Hill Junior School on Friday, 7th March! Ellie will be inspiring the children

with a talk about her journey as an author, sharing some top tips and ideas, and

showcasing her amazing books. We are delighted to be supporting her visit and

making this event memorable for the children.

Author visits often inspire children to read and share the author's books. Following

Ellie Irving's talk, there will be an opportunity for the children to meet her and have

their own pre-ordered book personalised and signed.

To ensure you get the book of your choice, please pre-order using the links below. Pre-orders need to be placed by 10am on Thursday, 6th March. There is no charge for delivery, and all pre-ordered books will be brought to the school on the day of the event for signing. Please disregard any counter delivery information on the invoice; all books ordered will be delivered to the school for the signing.

There will also be an after-school book signing on the day of the event. Sometimes children decide they want a book after meeting the author, so we will bring additional books. However, please note that we cannot guarantee the availability of your first choice of book unless it is pre-ordered.

We hope you enjoy your author visit from Ellie Irving!

The Matilda Effect by Ellie Irving

Matilda loves science and inventing and one day she wants to be a famous inventor herself. So, when she doesn’t win the school science fair, she’s devastated, especially as the judges didn’t believe she'd come up with her entry on her own!

When Matilda shares her woes with her Grandma Joss, she's astonished to learn her grandma was once an astrophysicist who discovered her very own planet, who was also overlooked as her boss, Professor Smocks, stole her discovery for himself ... So begins a race against time on a journey through Paris, Hamburg and Stockholm, and on which they encounter a famous film star, a circus, and a wanted diamond thief!

For the Record by Ellie Irving

For the Record.jpg

Luke is a gifted but awkward ten-year-old who is obsessed with world records, and is nervous about starting senior school a year early as 'the swot with the dead dad'.

When Luke's tiny, unique Jersey village is in danger of being bulldozed to the ground to make way for a waste incinerator plant, the only way to stop it is by putting the village on the map: by breaking 50 world records in a week. With the help of geeky adjudicator Simon and a colourful cast of oddball village characters, this is Luke's chance to shine, to solve his mum's relationship problems, and to face his biggest fears - with bizarre, extraordinary consequences.
